The 37 years old Spanish player announced his retirement as a professional soccer player, after almost one year playing for Vissel Kobe in Japan.

In a press conference made by the team Vissel Kobe, David Villa told the press that after thinking some time, he has decided that it’s the perfect time to retire from this beautiful sport. Why? Because we want to be able to dedicate his time in other activities. So, it’s official, he will retire when this season finishes.
David Villa said “I have decided that it’s the right moment. I have always said that I prefer to leave this sport because the soccer leaves me.”
